Summary: If your husband left you for another woman and divorced you for 10 years, can you still love him again?
Review: It’s Complicated is a story about Jane (Meryl Streep) who was divorced by her husband Jake (Alec Baldwin) for 10 years because Jake was having an affair with another woman named Agness (Lake Bell). So one day, Jake and Jane met up during Jake’s friends’, Ted and Ally, anniversary. However Jake was introducing his current wife to everyone at the party and that made Jane felt uncomfortable. Nonetheless, Jake and Jane made plans to meet up in New York.
On the night before Jane’s son’s graduation party, Jane and her son checked into a hotel. Jane’s son made plans to spend the night with his friend, therefore leaving Jane alone. So Jane decided to go to the bar where she bumps into Jake. The couple decided to have some drinks but before they knew it, they were at the dance floor having a good time. They reminisced about the good times they have had and asked when the last time they had such good fun was.
Then they head towards Jane’s room where they did their thing and the next morning Jane woke up feeling miserable. After that, Jake and Jane attended their son’s graduation party. Despite the fact that Jake and Jane were divorced, their family were still happy to see them together.
Jane met up with her friends and her friend’s told her that she was really energetic. Jane spilled the beans and told them the reason was because she has been having sex. When Jane’s friends question who it was, Jane told that she was having an affair with her ex-husband to which her friends replied that “Karma is a Bi**h.”
However, Jane was also seeing this other guy named Adam (Steve Martin) who was her architect to remodel her house. The both of them got into great terms after a few chats due to the similarity they both share. This is because Adam was also undergoing a divorce.
So who was it that Jane chose; was it Jake her ex-husband who divorced her or Adam the architect, at the end of It’s Complicated?
