I am having a problem as to why you all are advertising your website as free downloads, yet you all want a credit card, is it me or did i miss something in the definition of free that they taught me in school?

Summary: It’s ironic how most of the movies these days revolve around the central theme of destruction and either apocalyptic or post apocalyptic world. There’s actually nothing wrong because viewers get to reflect on the fictional interpretation of the world in the not so distant future and by doing so, we could actually heal the world.


Review:
In The Book of Eli, the last war on the Earth ended about 30 years ago. Soon after that, the world has turned into this catastrophic barren wasteland with lawless civilization. In America, complex criss-crossing highways and skyscrapers collapsed after being destroyed by nuclear bombs. The barren roads were monopolized by a group of thugs who kill people for things they desire like a pair of trainers, food and a drop of water or even just for fun. It’s either kill or be killed.

However, every society has a hero who would fight for justice and in that maniacal calamity that has befallen upon the citizens; the hero is a man named Eli walks alone. He is a man of peace and would not act unless provoked.

Eli is a man of faith holds the King James Bible. He travels to Alcatraz Island whereby the curator, Lombardi explains that the Island is a museum whereby it collects and preserve all of the knowledge, arts and pieces of human culture before the apocalypse started. The museum has a vast collection of literature but was missing out on a bible. Although Eli was reluctant to give his copy of the bible, the curator wrest it from him. The engineer managed to pick the lock and open it up but to the utter disbelief of the curator, the bible was written in Braille.

So, Eli agrees to recite the bible from the start to the end as he has memorized it all because he has been reading and re reading the bible for over 30 years. During his stint of translating the copy of bible, Eli was also suffering from his injuries. However, due to his faith; he simply persevered and went on until the end.

There was one point when the King James Bible was being printed; Eli was reciting his final prayer to God. At the end, Eli’s friend, Solara, knelt beside Eli’s grave and presented ‘him’ with a copy of the King James Bible. At the conclusion of The Book of Eli, the bible was placed amongst other religious books like the Muslim Quran and Hebrew Torah. Therefore, in Eli’s final prayer, he mentioned that he has completed his job, won the race and kept his faith.
